I ordered a custom cake for a celebration of my mom's birthday. She passed away in march and our family wanted to celebrate her this year. The woman that helped me with the cake order was extremely patient. The bakery is very clean. As for the cake, I was impressed. The decorating and taste met my expectations.

Earlier this month, I called Alpine's order line and purchased a spumoni cake for my mother's 89th birthday. It was my first time trying Alpine Bakery. The staff person was very polite and efficient and offered to write a message on the cake. I usually bake all the cakes (and pies, cookies, etc) from scratch for my family, but being a heat wave and all, didn't feel like turning on the oven. Sugary frostings are not appreciated in our household -- we prefer whipped cream frostings and custard fillings. The spumoni cake looked promising on their website, so that is what I selected. The cake was ready at the promised date/time and the staff member was quick to locate it and show it to me when I arrived. It was beautiful, but I forgot to take a picture of it. My mother loved it, as did I. Glad to have found this bakery for specialty cakes. Today, July 31, 2024 -- I brought my son in for treat. He loves baked desserts and it is still too hot to bake at home, so we stopped at Alpines for a box of goodies. We chose two Bavarian Cream puffs (quite large in size), one chocolate mousse cake roll slice, one Napoleon and nabbed the last peach cobbler square. Actually, each item is generous in size. It took us a while to browse and look at all their offerings and make our decision, but both of the staff members were patient and polite. Tonight, we already devoured one Bavarian Cream puff (not a cream puff, but a huge puff pastry filled with Bavarian Cream) and the Napoleon -- both were fresh tasting, flakey and the fillings not overly sweet -- perfection! Once again, I forgot to take a picture before we dug in. BTW, their prices are extremely reasonable compared to Paris Baguette. $25 out the door with a large box of delectable desserts! ($5 each).

So we went to Alpine Bakery a few years ago and were not impressed. The bakery seemed dark and depressing and the food was dried out and old. Well, my cousin texted me RAVING about a bakery she had gone to. She said they ordered 6 different things and they were all to die for and that we had to go and review the place on our YouTube channel called Dog_Minded. I know, it is weird that we review food on Dog-Minded but it started as a Buffet Channel but I am too in love with my dog so now it is both! Anyway, back to the review: so we thought it sounded familiar. I went back and saw that we didn't have a great experience in 2021 but decided to go back and give it a try because my cousin is an EXCELLENT source for yummy bakeries. I went today and had a much different feel. There were people inside ordering cakes and cookies and such. The espresso machine was popping and oh the dessert case. It was teeming with gorgeous things. I almost dropped dead when I saw the Princess Torta to buy AND slices. I take my Swedish roots very seriously. So I got in line and proceeded to buy the chocolate taco that I read about on yelp, the princess sorta, chocolate drop cookie, non parcel sprinkle cookie, apricot pinch cookie, and an almond milk latte. Everything was fresh and tasted good. I am not a fan of raspberry jam on everything chocolate nor a fan of almond extract which most of these items had but I know many people like it. I would say to check them out and check out our video of us eating it all. I do think that it would be nice if they had other non dairy milk besides almond milk but the coffee still hit the spot. This is a fantastic place to stop in when you have a sweet tooth! They have an incredible variety of cookies, cakes, tarts, turnovers, and pretty much anything else you might want and the prices are very reasonable in my opinion. On this visit my husband wanted to try the "Crookie" (croissant cookie) and the boysenberry tart, while I opted for the Lemonberry. I always like to grab a few macarons as well; my husband likes pistachio and I like raspberry so I finished the order with one of each. They do custom cake consultations in the corner and I was listening to a couple making an order today and thought they were very thorough; I really want to have a custom cake from here in the future. The desserts here are moist, delicious and flavorful. I did not try the Crookie, and even though staff advised us to heat it up for 20 or 30 seconds before we tried it (and he did) he said it was pretty bland and basic. Everything else we got today was melt in your mouth yummy and I recommend stopping in and giving them a try. They do flourless cake and vegan options as well There really is something here for everyone!
